If Only I Had Time

The little girl asked her daddy
Each and every day
If he would come for a few minutes
So the two of them could play
Her daddy was so wrapped up
In worries of bills to pay
He did not note the sadness
In what his daughter had to say
One morning as he hurried
To drive down his long driveway
He did not notice his small child
Sitting there playing with her clay
It was such a horror scene
Played over and over in his mind
Even though her death was an accident
No peace or comfort could he find
Longing to have back his daughter
Filled with yesterday`s regret
Echo`s of her pleading voice
Daddy, do you have time yet?

A New Day

Where all can reach out to understand
The sweat and blood of those before
Made this possible and so much more
All is equal are not just words to say
A change has started this important day
Past the ones who judge by the color of the skin
Thanks to all people who looked deep within
Choosing one who shows leadership
Giving great hope it will be more than lip
Obama accepted the office as the people`s choice
Inspired by all listening to his reassuring voice
He has told us change will not come overnight
But with the country he will work with all his might
So this will not be be changes just for the elite
All should be able to afford a little meat
When other countries do understand
To unclench the closed fist with an extended hand
America can be the land of the free
Changes started today for you and me.

Fading Memories
Posted by Maggie on Sunday, January 18, 2009 | 19 Comments
There are some days
Like fine wine
As seasons pass
Sweeten with time
Until one day
Age takes it`s toil
Where memories lie buried
Beneath the soil
Of the mind
Which is not always kind
As it robs a memory
And no where can it find
The joys of of the past
Which left too fast
Leaving faded memories
Which soon will lapse.
A Woman`s Song
Posted by Maggie on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 | 6 Comments
For years deep within the green forest
There stood a very strong oak tree
Standing straight and stately tall
Beckoning all to come and see
Many people happily visited her
Found comfort beneath her shade
They enjoyed the sweet nourishment
From the acorns the tree had made
She stood firm against the cold winds
With pride her branches only swayed
While weaker trees standing around her
Caved in to the elements and broke away
She was worshiped with admiration
By everyone passing within her reach
Many took the time to pause beneath her
Eating the acorns that fell at her feet
The years passed too quickly and alas
Acorns falling to the ground were few
Soon the visitors stopped coming to see her
And her branches stopped yielding to the dew
Disease attacked weakening her branches
They fell like snow falls to the ground
Soon there was only a rotting stump left
At the place where the tree was found
Beneath the soil her roots were still alive
And she struggled to tell this to the world
That had once enjoyed her sweet bounties
Her voice only reached a neighboring squirrel
Then she remembered with new found joy
The times she had been swollen with pride
Some of the acorns that fell from her tree
Were taken by squirrels to bury and hide
From a distance the sad decaying old tree
Saw her babies from seeds come back alive
And the new trees even out of her reach
Gave her a new sense of peace and pride
It no longer mattered if she had visitors
To the place where she once stood strong
Her seeds were slowly growing into trees
Within her mind she would never be alone
Now she sat living within pondering life
How the cycles never stop revolving or end
As with mother nature and all that lives
So it is with the existence of women and men

A Summer`s Day
Posted by Maggie on Monday, January 12, 2009 | 14 Comments
it was
a summer`s day
when I was
born to play
a Gemini
by calender`s birth
chasing myself
on this earth
simple to see
complex to be
then winter came
and ended
the summer` game
until the seasons pass
as many times before
until a new summer`s day begins
for all to play once more.

Letter To My Grandchildren
Posted by Maggie on Friday, January 9, 2009 | No Comments
Forever you will remain
A small child to me
Whenever you look around
My love, you will always see
I will never leave you
Although you do not see my face
Continue to grow in Grace and wisdom
While I reside at my Heavenly place
Can you not see the truth
We will never be apart
My life lives in the love
You carry within your heart
Smile at the many visions
You bouncing upon my knees
We will always be together
Within loving memories
While life will give you heartaches
Pain will cause many a tear
Remember my love from the past
I am close to you my dear

Lost

Today has been a day of tears for me
I feel like I am blind and can not see
Maybe I am lost and that is why
You can not see me as I cry
I am all mixed up, confused, I say
Is there anyone to guide me today

Let Me Help
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
I am at a place
I want to be
Seeing things
As I want to see
No more is darkness
In the daylight
My light shines brightly
Such a beautiful sight
I whistle and sing
A happy song
If you are unhappy
Just come on along
Let me help you
Carry your load
We`ll toss it to the side
As we travel down our road

JUSTIFIED
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
Just as if
I had never sinned before
Saved by His blood
Now and forever more
I heard the sweet message
Of how it came to be
Jesus shed His blood
So I could be free
Whether you are a murder
Or someone who had lied
It is only through Jesus
You can be justified
Do not ever think
There is some other way to choose
Without the saving blood of Jesus
We would all forever lose
When, you serve the Lord
Your needs will be satisfied
When you accept God`s salvation
Then you will be justified

In Church
Posted by Maggie | 1 Comment
A building is not a church
Because it is built with a steeple
A building becomes a church
When the church is in the people
A building protects the flesh
From the rain, cold and sun
The church protects the Soul
When each passing day is done
A building may have many members
The church has sisters and brothers
Those in a building think only of themselves
While the church is always caring for others
This Sunday, when you enter a building
And you sit upon a pew
You will know if you are in church
Because, the church will be in you.

Images of the mind
Planted by man
At great length
Faking a fire
Pretty young things
Males do desire
Showing trophies off
To another man
Each always wondering
If the other one can
Rise to the occasion
When timing is sure
Pleasing to a woman
Able to endure
Keeping it up
Without any haste
Satisfaction will come
In the right place.

In My Sight

You reminded me
Of the full moon last night
I lay there on the bed mesmerized
The room lit by your loving light
When your lips
Brushed against mine
Sweeter was your taste
Than a bottle of fine wine
Your hands reached out
Drawing me within your arms
There I felt so safe
Protected free from any alarm
You kissed me
With your lips so tender
My body yielded
I did surrender
To the love we shared
Until the early break of day
Sharing the sweet words
We both had to say
Letting each other know
Exactly how we feel
We are so blessed to have each other
Resting in a love that is real

Walking along
The Milky Way
Lit by the Moon
Sharing it`s ray
As lovers strolled
Hand in hand
Enjoying the beauty
Of an enchanted land
Stars were twinkling
In each other`s eye
Planets were discovered
While traveling high
Breaking new trails
Joys to explore
From mountains to valleys
And, so much more
Emotions spread wings
Opening a view
As time stood still
For only two
Joined together
Soul to soul
Emerging from a fire
That will never grow cold

If I were able

Have you ever enjoyed
A journey in mind
In a peaceful setting
Leaving troubles behind
Gazing with your eyes
On a far away star

Seeing a need
Giving a helping hand
Making others happy
Is happiness for thee
It destroys chains

Time waits for no one
Many will fully agree
And that is exactly why
Moments are treasures to be
Spent and enjoyed
Each and every day
Allowing nothing
To stand in the way
While pursuing happiness
Making a new road
Without false expectations
For help carrying any load
Understanding that lies
Can cause much grief
Clouding the mind
Destroying past belief
So always be cautious
With everyone you meet
One never knows
Who is filled with deceit.

Help me, Lord

I tell myself
I must not forget
Then I laugh
With some regret
Days and weeks pass
No one comes along
Where are your friends
When you are feeling alone
The children are too busy
With a life of their own
They all work long hours
Too tired to call on the phone
You think of your church
Sitting upon their pew
When the body is unable
Do they still care for you
I miss their fellowship
Much more often these days
I miss the pastors sermons
The choir singing God`s praise
These times are hard
Both at night and day
Please give me strength
To go on, dear Lord, I pray
Help me acknowledge
In all I say or do
Everything I am
Lives only for You.

Can life in bondage
Be better than death
Which ceases to measure
The depth of a breath
Yet releases a soul
To fly away free
Leaving behind nothing
But a brief history
Living in the hearts
Of those who cared
Good and bad times
For those who shared
Breaking out of chains
Living without shame
Where truth prevails
Without playing a game

Going Home
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
To all of my family
And the church where I belong
Please do not be sad for me
When the day comes and I am gone
Ever since the day
I received a brand new birth
I knew that my home
Was not found here on this earth
Jesus has gone on
To my Father and He will prepare
An everlasting home for me
And, He will take me there
I am happy I shared in your love
I want you all to know
Now, I am ready
And soon it will be time to go
To My heavenly Father
In the Heavens up above
He is waiting there to greet me
His arms open with love
If you know my Father
And have received His amazing Grace
A new day will come
When we will meet face to face
What a day that will be
We will see God upon His throne
What peace we will know
As we find joy and contentment in our new Home.
Amen

Gemini

Yes, she is a Gemini
Through and through
Ever since birth
Living a life of two
What one twin did
Both received the blame
One deed accepted
Another held in shame
Always together
Within the light
Even when emotions
Cause either to fight
Life choices may differ
At a beckoning call
The struggles of existence
Not seen by all
Yes, I am a Gemini
I am letting you see
We are happy
Just being me.

circles may fall
like squares at play
landing into puddles
on the road to man do lay
where flowers die
in a strange time
and clocks do not tick
without glasses of wine
giving blissful silence
from all the voices
mocking the senses
creating many choices
watching sunflowers bloom
with yellow and golden brown
surviving in the sunshine
withering in frozen ground
and once upon a time
it will come to be
beneath blue lines
where some may not see
until too late
but, that is okay

Answers come pouring
With no questions before
The changes began
Behind a closed door
With a loose tongue
In a running mouth
Having no understanding
Customs of the South
Where men walk softly
When women do speak
Knowing wrath may follow
When patience grows weak
Allowing the force
Kept hidden within
Women of the South
Understand their men
Desiring food on the table
A warm body in bed
Paying close attention
To what the woman has said
Realizing that pain
Will come his way
Whenever he ignores
What the woman does say
So listen closely
When offered jelly or jam
Women of the South
Really don`t give a damn

Watching from a window
The falling of many leaves
Floating gently to the ground
Nudged by a cool Fall breeze
Some limbs are barren
No leaves to be found
On the other branches
Vivid colors of red and brown
Mixed with yellows and orange
Quite a colorful sight
This follage has such beauty
Giving much delight
Realizing it won`t be long
When anyone looks out there
All of this assortment will vanish
The trees will all be bare
Birds are coming to the feeders
To chirp the songs they sing
Reminding all the leaves will return
Early in the next Spring.

In school it was taught
We lived in the land of the free
However, I have learned
You have to pay a fee
Every little thing
Has a different price
Whether or not you pay it
Depends on the throw of the dice
Many, Born at the top of the ladder
Able to lick the cream
Holding high paid positions
Treated with great esteem
Always fooling the general public
Making them serve for political pay
Keeping them all in labor
While the rich just have the say
More and more are waking up
And learning how to speak
Letting the ones in power
See, they are neither dumb or weak.

Watching a butterfly
Gliding in the air
Displaying beautiful colors
Roaming every where
Out in the meadows
Where the flowers grow
Rich with sweet nectar
A bountiful flow
As the moon rise follows
The setting of the sun
My footsteps trace yours
When each day is done
You feed my mind
And so much more
Like no one else
I have met before
It is almost like
A brand new birth
As you share the beauty
Here on the earth
Love is the butterfly
Gliding in the air
Love is your footsteps
Showing you care
You are my moon
I am your sun
It is with understanding
We become poetically one.

The blue shades of darkness
Cascade over the night
Covering the false shadows
Of things giving fright
Causing a mortal body
To ache and sometimes moan
Encased with contradictions
Afflicting flesh and bone
As tiny flickering embers
Slowly fade away
And the vessel grows colder
With each passing day
While the Lord of a soul
Is whispering to come see
The releasing of earthly chains
Setting one spirit free...

Soft butterfly kisses
Sweeter than strawberry wine
Deepening with great passion
As two bodies did entwine
Melting into one
It seemed to be true
Heartbeats beating together
Me falling into you
Exchanging solemn vows
Never to be apart
With deep understanding
Written in the heart
Have I told you lately
How much I truly miss
Sounds of butterfly wings
Bringing close your kiss
As I recall past times
Sweeter than wine
When passions were strong
Believing, you were mine...

Of any primitive animal
Or educated human being
Is a state of survival
By any means
Always careful with actions
Being self-contained
To live another way
Can not always say
There is no surprise
Hidden with lies
And nothing new
From the time of birth
Until reprise comes
Returning to earth
Evolving with changes
Never, the same
While existing each day

When I am finally gone
Sick and tired of fighting
This hard battle all alone
Being torn into tiny pieces
Watching loved ones survive
Too busy to even notice
I was barely alive
Just listening to sounds
Of different voices
With so many excuses
For various choices
Making me realize
It really is ok
For me to take leave
While loved ones stay
Fighting their battles
Struggling to survive
The way I once did
When I was alive...

I had a dream about you last night
Of times we made love
How you held me tight
The first time our lips met in a kiss
And the way you held me
Was just pure bliss
I was so happy calling you mine
Our bodies melded together
As we intertwined
Your slightest touch set me on fire
Giving so much pleasure
Satisfying every desire
Now I am alone and that is true
But at times like tonight
I live in dreams about you

Calmed a heart dying in clay

Locked in the barnyard
Strutting and proud
Crowed an old rooster
Cocky and loud
Roaming all over
Cooing to every hen
Bragging who he was
Telling where he`d been
Ruffling many feathers
Each and every day
Boasting and conceited
Demanding his own way
Never for one moment
Did he ever realize
The lowly little hens
Never believed his lies
And before very long
He caught the farmer`s eye
Who quickly set a time
The old rooster was going to die
Roosters are a dime a dozen
Hens earn their way
The tough old rooster was cooked
The very next day.

Call On His Name
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
When you are down in the valley
Feeling so low
The body feels forsaken
You can not remember where to go
Take your burdens to Jesus
Because we are weak in the flesh
Our body, He can mend
Our spirits, He will refresh
No matter how we struggle
In the strength of a man
We can never succeed
Until we take Jesus by the hand
He will lift us and guide us
When He lives in our heart
It is never too late for anyone
To ask Jesus for a new start
There will be times in our life
When our load brings us to the ground
But there will never be a time
When our Lord can not be found
So, call on His name
When you are down in despair
Before the words leave your mouth
You will find He is already there.

I never liked fishing
With a rod and reel
A little line, hook and cane pole
I`d catch me a meal
My recent view of the water
Makes me sigh with great sorrow
Man`s pollution of yesterdays
Gives poor standards for our tomorrows
Although the window of time is closing
A better quality of water could appear
If all took the chance and worked
To help make our water clear.

Carrie`s Birthday

January 16th is Carrie`s birthday
She is my daughter
The 12th of April 1970
I was driving my car
In Douglasville, GA
It was a Sunday afternoon
A drunk woman
Driving a white car
Was speeding
She plowed into my car
My daughter, Carrie
Was dead on arrival
At the Douglas General Hospital
She will always live in my heart
And in my thoughts
She was eleven years old
When this wreck happened
No matter
How many years pass
She will always be eleven to me
I am thinking
Of her today

Rebuking the dark clouds
Which chase sunshine away
Sending only gloom
Turning a day into gray
Refusal to wallow in sadness
Surrounding others with gloom
While keeping to self
In a lonely dark room
Wanting to be myself
Without having to pretend
Afraid of hurting feelings
Of another person or dear friend
When somebody loves you
And they say their love is true
You will know it is really so
When, they want the honesty in you.

In shadows where you go
Taking away darkness
Leaving a glow

Revealing exactly
How much you cared
For the oppressed
Often, you cried
Giving strength to others
You always tried
To do your very best
In minutes, hours and days
Forsaking man`s paved roads
Forging your own ways
Where loneliness lived
Across your fruit full land
Touching so very many
Who will never understand
And miss the golden pleasure
Of getting to see

By any human kind
As the law of the jungle
Observes the flight of a bee
Drawn to the nectar of a flower
Sweet and free
Giving in surrender
With no darkness there
Awaiting the new dawn
Living without a care.

Anticipation

(acrostic)
Actions are agreeable
Necessities are determined
Taking ones to new levels
In solving things
Coming from various places
In different ways
Putting forth good vibes
Accelerating movements
Taking away negatives
Improvements soon show
On every side
Now...is the time.

Asunder

A house
Decorated with
Many a broken dream
Where silence
Is spoken
Leaving echoes to scream
Days turn
Into nightmares
Leaving ones with fears
Eyes are
Now blinded
Full of dry tears
Lovers dead
Time forgotten
Memories of another
Ghosts pass
Within walls
Oblivious to each other...

Adaptable

Existing in a world
Cursed by many lies
Expressing one truth
Before beloved eyes
Without any pretence
Emerging so bold
Baring an empty heart
Exposing an open soul
Feeling more intense
Than humanities can conceive
Still, playing in roles
Desiring to believe.

Another Person
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
Sometimes
In one life time
A person may be so fortunate
As to meet another person
Who will have a great and positive impact
On life as it is seen and felt
Through each other's eyes
Although very different
In the words both do say
Each understands the others way
And when problems arise, as they always will
Help comes from each other
Knowing how each does feel
Sharing the good times accepting the sad
Giving to each other whatever can be had
To add to the joy giving peace to the soul
Adding a treasure more valued than gold
I am most fortunate as I see the sun
Understanding with its warmth
New life was begun
This time I am so blessed more than mere words can say
To meet another person at a time I was living in strife
This person has added so many dimensions
And cares to share in my life
While my life is so much richer
In everything that I do
I want only blessings
To flow to this other person
And the problems to be few
As each day comes I am more thankful than before
My cup runneth over I ask for no more
Than the treasure I have already received
When another entered my life
And my strife was relieved
My biggest desire is happiness for each other
I am so glad I met another.

Amused
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
You think you know me
And all that I be
When all that you learn
I willingly let you see
But, there is so much
You will never know
Because I keep inside
Places no one can go
This keeps me safe
From every suprise
I have learned how to judge
From truthfulness to lies
Playing many games
Without any rule
Watching other players
Acting like a fool
I simply smile
Staying in my place
Then, when I tire
I leave with no trace.

A Point Meant
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
Observing many words
Dancing in the air
Grabbing at a few
To write how much I care
Hoping you will see
These words expressing love
Letting you be aware
It is you I am thinking of
As I put pen to paper
Beginning at the start
Desiring to give you
A message from my heart.

A Fresh Start
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
Plants around the school house
Are slowly turning green
Birds happily chirping
Heralding the start of Spring
Teal blue lake water
Glistening in the sun
Over in the meadow
Where the boys and girls run
Dewdrops linger longer
On the flower blooms each day
A butterfly sips the moisture
As it wings along its way
Everywhere seems to show
It is time for Spring to start
With it`s warmth and fresh beauty
Which seems to gladden each heart.

A Different Drumbeat
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
Listen to the mournful
Whistle of a train
Confined to tracks
In sunshine and rain
Carrying it`s load
Commanded by man
Who sets the boundries
All over the land
Observing beautiful birds
Soaring in the air
Wishing for freedom
To travel up there
Carrying a message
Filled with love
From the pits of hell
To the heavens above
Continuing a journey
Without beginning or end
Filled with passengers
Lovers and friend
Interesting travels
Memories galore
Deeply imbedded
Forever and more.

A Soul Friend
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
Watching a butterfly
Emerging from it`s cocoon
Is like a vision of you
When entering a room
The butterfly flips around
Easily sharing it`s beauty
You flit around a room
Never ignoring a duty
Speaking to one
Then to another
Always a sister
Sometimes a mother
Always seeking
Inside your soul
Gaining experience
Sharing to all who behold
There is a beauty
For which there is no kin
It discards the outer
Dwelling deep within
The soul is your own
Upon which you can depend
While patiently waiting
To receive a soul friend.

A Brewing Problem
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
She was just a young witch
And her spells were few
This kept her grounded
While the older witches flew
Then finding a surprise
And also great delight
She tasted some of their special homebrew
While they were all out of sight
She drank and she danced
All around the deserted room
Her eyes suddenly fixed on
An old witches broom
With a head that was spinning
And an unsteady hand
She grabbed for the broom
While chanting a flying command
A window was open
And she held on tight
As the broom went into action
And they sped away in flight
Her ride was jerky
Going upwards and then down
She could not control
This broom she had found
Her mind was fuzzy
From drinking the brew
She chanted and she chanted
Not knowing what else to do
The broom was quite confused
By her chanting, you see
As it climbed and descended
Finally crashing into a tree
The older witches came running
And carried her into their home
While asking the young witch
What caused her to roam
She confessed what she had done
And how she knew it was wrong
No more would she drink and fly
So happy to be where she did belong
She had learned a hard lesson
While breaking a witches rule
Never drink brew and chant in flight
Or end up looking like a fool.

And the Band Played On
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
You sang
Such a pretty love song
"Dear One
I will always be true"
When your music
Had ended
You were in the arms
Of someone new
Never did you
Want to stop dancing
But, when
Our love tune was through
You left me
Empty for a moment
Until another tune began
Now, I am dancing anew

Am Bushed
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
Just like an ostrich
Hiding face in the ground
The presence of one
Is hard to be found
In a place called
The White House
Many scurry in holes
Sneaky like a mouse
Leaving dirty droppings
Where ever they go
Led by a coward
Who loves to blow
Things out of proportion
Always wanting more
Pushing the minorities
Forcing them to war
While the elite golf and fish
Keeping cash in hand
The poor blood flows
In a foreign land
Leaving mothers and wives
Alone to cry
While watching a bush
Living a lie.

A Beautiful Skater
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
(acrostic poem)
Alluringly dressed in shimmering white
Beautiful sight to behold
Entertaining all appreciating gracefulness
Animated in gliding movements
United as if one with the ice
Taunting and teasing in delivery
Involving all who attended the performance
Fascinating them with sights and sounds
Understanding her rhythm and flow
Learned from years of practice
So, her actions now exploded on ice
Keeping all enthralled
Artistic in motion
Tonight`s escapades champion
Revolving on a sheet of ice.

As the River Flows
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
She is as the sages
In the days of yore
A true soothsayer
And so much more
She is older than time
Long before planet earth
She is younger than creation
Before there was a birth
She is a sister to anyone
Who heeds her beckoning call
To join in a sisterhood
Filled with nourishment for all
She shows true reflections
Which live deep inside
Exposing a true image
One can wear with pride
She is called, Amias
Who is boldly seeking fame
Never forgetting, Linda Jones
Which is her given name.

Abstract Duo
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
Things are different
Viewed by few
Water is ice
Sun turned blue
Searching for answers
Obscure in lies
Needed to survive
Living in disguise
Changeable as weather
Actions on whim
Eyes are staring
Visions are dim
Trying to dance
To other`s choice
Having to conceal
A screaming voice
This is natural
Existing in two
Water is life
Sun turned blue.

Actually
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
I gave you my heart
Shared my very soul
Loving in great depth
While you played a role
Saying so many things
Leaving me in the middle
Always making me wonder
The truth and the riddle
Until at long last
Answers finally came
The past was dead
My dreams were a game
Played to be shredded
Keeping you amused
Causing me misery
Keeping me confused
While our precious time
Goes speeding on by
Longing to visualize
Your love in my eye
Desiring complete life
Neither playing a role
Sharing together
Soul to Soul...

Adieu

Mysterious one
Multi too
No walls
Glass view
Entry open
Doors wide
Only honor
Abides inside
Coming together
Common cause
Sharp retorts
Bring claws
Pain ensues
Questioning why
Total understanding
Rumors fly
Snake slithers
Shedding shame
Vision clear
Resignation came
Much pretense
Excellent show
Saying goodbye
Now, go...

A Breakdown or A Tune-Up
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
Smart in their ignorance
Ignorant in their smartness
Where was the break
What makes you say down
Now, a tune-up
Is a different story
First there is a tune
We can all use a little music
In our lifetime
Then there is up
The opposite of down
So it has to be good
Forget about a breakdown
Put me in for a tune-up

A Pleasing Sight
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
You are as a young butterfly
Emerging from your cocoon
Welcomed in a new world
Gliding in the room
With wings very tender
Yet, flying so high
An astounding beauty
This is no lie
Fluttering in radiant color
Creating a gentle breeze
Seeking comfort
Settling with ease.

Autumn

Watching from a window
The falling of many leaves
Floating gently to the ground
Nudged by a cool Fall breeze
Some limbs are barren
No leaves to be found
On the other branches
Vivid colors of red and brown
Mixed with yellows and orange
Quite a colorful sight
This follage has such beauty
Giving much delight
Realizing it won`t be long
When anyone looks out there
All of this assortment will vanish
The trees will all be bare
Birds are coming to the feeders
To chirp the songs they sing
Reminding all the leaves will return
Early in the next Spring.

A Holding Pattern
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
I feel as if I am in a holding pattern
Neither coming or going
Watching as others pass by me
Listening to what they say
Being amused by them
And all my eyes do see
Wondering how they would feel
If they could only see me
I do not feel as if I am of this world
I left it a long time ago
I am in familiar surroundings
This I can not show
If you can not see me
How can I expect you
To see where I am at

A Special Sunflower
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
I picked a beautiful sunflower
Among my travels one day
It was in amazement
I heard this flower say
Do not be surprised
If I am able to talk
I also am here to tell you
I am able any time to walk
You see I have many seeds
I give them all over the land
Yet when I have a need
There is no helping hand
My seeds have given nourishment
My beauty is clear to see
The reason I am talking to you
Is you took the time
To see me

Artifical Insemination
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
There was a woman
Who decided to have a baby
This was something she had wanted
For many many years
She did not want a partner
So she went to a sperm bank
Soon she knew she was going to have a baby
She tried to share the good news with her family
One day after the baby had been born
The phone rang and it was the baby donor
He wanted to share the baby with her
She said the sperm was paid for and it was all hers
For a while she noticed foot prints
Leading to her front door
She never opened her door to strangers
So after a while the footprints faded away
Leaving the woman to do just what she wanted to do
And that was to have a baby
All by herself

Women weep
They speak
Cancer will
Surely kill
Many unless
They test
Not confuse
Medical news
Can save
From grave
Listen well
Bodies tell
People hide
Disease inside
Without blame
Feeling shame
Can`t see
Being free
And endure
Cancer cure
Staying alive
Women survive.

a responce
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
every fiber of being
screams for nourishment
to the sun and moon
and the brown earth below
while some hearts flutter
it will always be so
languishing in emptiness
with flames far beyond
beckoning for sweetness
of sparkling blue water
to moisten an existence
withering in a vortex
removed from the source
giving strength to both
which suffer when parted
walking on one leg
for all to behold
crying to the antagonism
keeping twins apart.

Dust On My Bible
Posted by Maggie on Friday, January 2, 2009 | No Comments
The dust on my bible
Oh how it did grow
As I wandered around in darkness
Going to and fro
The lessons I knew
From the tales of old
I had left behind me
With nothing left to console
The emptiness which filled me
As dangers I did seek
The visions of this world
Caused my heart to weep
Soon I will greet Jesus
These words I want to say
Thank You Lord
For enlightening my way
This is my story
About how I did stray
The Lord never did leave me
He is with me each and every day.

Dust In The Wind

Do not weep for me
When I am finally gone
Sick and tired of fighting
This hard battle all alone
Being torn into tiny pieces
Watching loved ones survive
Too busy to even notice
I was barely alive
Just listening to sounds
Of different voices
With so many excuses
For various choices
Making me realize
It really is ok
For me to take leave
While loved ones stay
Fighting their battles
Struggling to survive
The way I once did
When I was alive...

Beyond DNA
Posted by Maggie | No Comments
a blessed event
few people ever find
a connective soul
understanding in mind
apart from the seed
men implant on earth
past the umblical cord
of a mother giving birth
blended close together
strickly by choice
where actions speak clearly
needing no sound from a voice
rare as a unicorn
found in stories of old
emitting an aura
shielding to enfold
far beyond the human
conceived at birth
to a new demention
a mystery on earth
spoken by many
enjoyed by few
is the bonding friendship
I find with You
