"These are my words the song I sing, not with my voice, it's with words that I bring. A part of my life, some of what I believe, a partial glimpse of the one called me."

yester year

Today is the same date
My husband was placed in the ground
Sometimes, it seems like yesterday
I still miss him being around

He had sparkling, blue eyes
Thick, wavy, brown hair
My lover, friend and husband
As a father, he was always there

At times working several jobs
As long as he was able
To provide for the family
Keeping food on our table

He may be deceased
And gone a long, long time
Today, thoughts of us
Keeps him alive in my mind

.....have i told you lately

Doubt the sun
Rising in the east
Doubt the sun
Setting in the west

Never doubt promises
Whispered in the ear
When least expected
They will appear

Letting a heart know
A bond is still strong
Souls joined together
Never leaving one alone

To suffer in a cold world
Among ones showing no care
Forever and for always
Each soul will be there

To help carry any burden
In the very best way
Showing in actions
Meaning what they say

In all of the whispers
From start to the end
All was real and true
Without any pretend

Doubt the moon
Doubt the sun
Doubt not the words
From this one

Fragrance of Mind OSI

Nature`s scents seemed stronger
When I was a young child
Gathering flowers and berries
Growing freely in the wild

Fragrance of honeysuckles
Emitting into the air
Yielding a sweet nectar
Plenty to share

Woods of tall pine trees
Mixed with other kinds
Shaded the forest floor
In the hot summer time

Children enjoyed playing
From early spring til winter frost
Parents never had to worry
None ever got lost

Drinking cool water from creeks
Eating berries from the vine
The fragrance of a forest
Brings childhood to my mind

Inner Voice - OSI

My mom was a small woman
Barely five foot two
But, we knew to jump quickly
When she told us what to do

At times she taught to the tune
Of a limber hickory stick
I well recall the dancing
With each and every lick

She taught us many lessons
Letting us know we had a choice
Between doing right or wrong
Guided by her soft voice

Imbedded into my mind
Helping me along life`s way
Keeping me well grounded
When my feet would go astray

Reminding me ever so gently
I will always have a choice
These days, I listen closely
To my own inner voice

Weeping Willows - AO

Water loving tree
Each branch flows free
Every time the wind blows
Parts of the tree shows
In graceful cascade
Nature giving shade
Green as can be

Waltzing with the breeze
Imitating a tease
Like dancers at a ball
Loving it all
Outstanding as can be
Water loving tree
Silently swaying

Thinking - OSI

Just thinking about things
As time zips past
Of the days in youth
Thinking time would forever last

Realizing now, as time changes
So much is very true
Time is forever lasting
Changing, as we do

Nine months of pregnancy
Can seem an eternity
Before a child is born
Then we truly see

Our children growing up
Before our own eyes
Sometimes, it really seems
Time swiftly flies
