"These are my words the song I sing, not with my voice, it's with words that I bring. A part of my life, some of what I believe, a partial glimpse of the one called me."

Here Comes The Sun

Who is to say
When this day is done
Gazing at the moon
Warmed by the sun

Shifting from reality
Into a metaphor
Where things change
As many times before

Away from the norm
Where some may see
Ones who are watching
May call this fantasy

A true reality
Which may not be fine
For ones satisfied to live
With a shift in time

Magnolia Moments

Elusive at the very start
Until one day you touched my heart
Entering into my solitary life
Becoming now a vital part

You have been such a treasure
Giving to others much pleasure
Without placing any set limits
Far beyond any known measure

A very dear and precious friend
One whom I could always depend
To allow me to just be myself
Without playing games or pretend

Thanks for every traveled mile
For making time more worthwhile
Enjoying good companionship
Sharing laughter and smiles

Thanks for all the many ways
You brought to me the sunny days
Making me feel so very special
Bringing me out of a blind haze

In everything I say or do
This one fact is always true
Anyone can always plainly see
You are for me as I am for you

Dedicated to my friend,
Linda

Well, Hush My Mouth

Born with a southern voice
You really do not have a choice
The moment you ever open your mouth
People easy know you are from the south

Even when you finally decide
This voice you want to hide
No matter where you move away
That southern drawl is there to stay

So when time comes to be a bride
Wear your southern heritage with pride
Looking everyone straight in the face
Declaring to all the south is the best place

Loving the weather in the summer time
Eating watermelon down to the rind
Sitting on the porch with a glass of tea
This is completely the life for me

When time comes to return to the ground
Southern soil is where I want to be found
No longer speaking in my southern voice
Because this time I really had no choice

grace under pressure

(A collaboration by Amias & Maggie)

living in light i breached the darkness
born in darkness i conquered the light
onward i soared into the dire night
reaching outward on my maiden flight

feeling a newborn sense of freedom
absorbing the dimensional change
my path is blocked by visual range
traveling blindly this place felt strange

i charted the course but lost my way
a premature thought falls in limbo
watching ages pass and gently flow
as it once happened so long ago

embracing each step along the path
navigating boldly in virgin space
manifesting with amazing grace
a thought created the human race

a multitude of breathing bodies
created in darkness born in light
surveying it all with pure delight
i am the conqueror of the night

Team Effort

The talisman was there
In the trophy case
Located in the hallway
In front of each student`s face

Finally able to show
A winning football season
Holding heads high
With plenty of reason

It was the school spirit
Which made it real
Cheering the team onward
Each time on the field

The trophy case glowed
With the talisman inside
The students high-fives
With a new sense of pride

a limit had to be set
on water farmers would get
it sparked a vocal crowd
yelling their protests loud
no cash came from fallow land
crops were needed by each man

prompt at 3WW

Learning to Learn - OSI

It was in early high school
A class after History
There was a required subject
It was called Biology

The teacher said we were a descent
Of the monkey living in a tree
Right then and there I knew
We both would come to disagree

Being raised in the Bible Belt
Taught by a preacher in church
This monkey business in school
Left me reeling in a lurch

Feeling the teacher was wrong
And would surely go to hell
Wondering if the church or school
Was putting me under a spell

Closing my eyes and ears
To anything more this teacher said
Failing the subject of Biology
Seeking my own answers instead

About Me

My Photo
I was, I am, and I will be. I live in a state of confusion called Georgia by some people. Humor is my cup of tea and I do so enjoy sharing it with friends.
